Just across the water from Bald Head Island and Southport is Oak Island, a narrow strip of land that is separated into two beach communities – Caswell Beach and Oak Island.

Middleton Park has a playground and playing fields for various sports such as baseball, basketball, and tennis. Schuster Park is a very peaceful area to watch waterway traffic from the newly constructed pier. The Scenic Walkway spans Davis Creek offering a close-up view of wildlife and vegetation.
